This is a photograph of one of my final works for the arts class at school. It was inspired by surrealism and is based on three representations of power (creative, destructive and chaotic) as seen on three different swords, "floating" (hanging from a dangerously thin wire) over the observer's head, and superimposed on a dark reflective background, representing the unreachability and sense of illusion that power creates.
It can also be seen as a representation of danger or a surreal menace, as (if you had been in the exposition) you would feel the pieces could fall on you any second.
The three swords (left one inspired by celtic, draconic an alchemical desings, center one inspired by Excalibur from Legion, and right one inspired by, you guessed it, Frostmourne) were carved and painted on wood. The Background is simply black fabric with lots of broken mirror pieces glued on it.
This is fantastic! Great work, I thought it was a digital piece, even if it was it woul be awesome, but this is much better! The fact that this has all been arranged so well, and the effect is surreal using one shot is awesome. The carving work is also beautiful. Good to see some great work again!
